UK DATA: Preview - UK Labour Market Seen Soft in Mar

- MNI Median Mar UK Unemp Rate 3M 3.9%, Bbg consensus at 3.9% vs Feb 3.9%
- The labour market remains soft according to the KPMG/REC UK Jobs report as the
Permanent Placements index remained in the contractionary territory for the 3rd
time this year but improved slightly in Apr to 49.7 from 47.6 in Mar
- Overall job vacancies fell again in April, falling to the lowest level since
August 2012, especially in the public sector
- Staff availability remained limited, indicating a low unemployment rate.
Temporary pay growth rose, with permanent salaries broadly stable
- The Apr UK PMI report saw the employment component soften across sectors led
by weaker demand outlook
- Manufacturing employment fell for the 3rd time in the past 4 months during Apr
- Staff hiring among services companies was the weakest since the end of 2012
