Primorsk Oil Handling Capacity Expansion Ahead of Schedule

Russia’s Transneft may expand the oil loading capacity of Primorsk port in mid-2024 according to its CEO Nikolay Tokarev.

  • "Construction is in full swing. We will probably open Primorsk in 2024, although we planned to do it later. … This [will happen] next year, the middle of the next year," he said.
  • He said capacity could reach 57 mln tons. Transshipment volumes in the port reached a record 44 mn tons this year.
  • He also added that the expansion of export capacity in the port of Novorossiysk by 2025 to 52 mln tons is going according to plan.
