FED: Q&A continues:
- Q: PPP has had logistical problems, what lessons for Main Street lending. Also
you mentioned about federal debt being unsustainable, should that be a concern
for Congress.
A: Main Street different from PPP: 1) these are not grants, these are loans, and
demand may not be as strong as for the PPP. 2) We won't run out of money. It's
not a limited pot. Fiscal concern I have long been an advocate for the US to a
sustainable path. This is not the time to act on those concerns in my personal
view.
- Q: How important is a vaccine to clearing uncertainty, raising rates etc. And
when does Main Street facility come online?
A: We are not in a position to make a reliable assessment re vaccine/drug. We
will provide the support we can with the tools we have. RE Main Street, we are
very close to announcing a new term sheet which will then become operative
quickly. My guess is that we will keep adding products/borrowers over time.
