The UK current account widened in Q3, recording the biggest deficit 
since Q3 2016. The -Stg26.522bn balance is equivalent to 4.9% of GDP. 
Worsening in each of the primary income, trade and secondary income 
categories were responsible for the deterioration. The primary 
trade deficit grew by stg3.6bn to stg11.1bn, driven by higher profits 
generated by external investors on their UK investments. The trade 
balance widened by stg1.8bn to stg8.8bn, mainly driven by a fall in the 
UK's trade in services surplus.
