LNG: Qatar Faces LNG Marketing Challenge for 2025: MEES

Concluding sales agreements for a mountain of LNG capacity due to become available in the second half of this decade is a major priority for QatarEnergy, MEES reported.
- The firm plans three expansion phases of its domestic LNG facilities which will add 64m mtpa of capacity by the end of the 2020s.
- QatarEnergy also must market volumes from a major US project along with those from expiring contracts from its legacy projects.
- Since signing its first sales deals for its expansion projects in 2023, QatarEnergy has contracted 25m mtpa with various buyers, leaving another 39m mtpa to be marketed.
- On the first phase of North Field East project’s 32m mtpa, 18m mtpa has been contracted. Deliveries are slated to begin in 2026.
