Qatar to Partner with Three More Companies on North Field South Project

Qatar says three more companies with be announced as partners on the North Field South (NFS) gas development project in “due course”. TotalEnergies has already been announced as the first international partner in the 16mtpa NFS LNG project in Qatar.

  • TotalEnergies has a 9.375% interest in the NFS project out of a total 25% available for international partners. Qatar have already partnered with TotalEnergies, Exxon, ConocoPhillips, Eni and Shell on the North Field South (NFS) project.
  • Qatar's North Field expansion, including NFE and NFS, will add six LNG trains to bring Qatar's overall capacity to 126m mt/yr from around 77mn mt/yr by 2027. The first export cargoes from NFE are due at the end of 2025 or early 2026 and NFS will be from 2027.
