on modest volume (TYU>230k), curves bull flattening. Week ahead highlights
center on the minutes from the July 31-August 1 FOMC meeting to be released
Wednesday at 1400ET, and nnual economic symposium hosted by KC Fed in Jackson
Hole, Wyoming. Symposium kicks of Thursday evening, while the event program will
be made available at 2000ET Thursday, Federal Reserve Chairman Powell is
expected to make opening remarks at 1000ET Friday.
- US$ index off late overnight highs, DXY +.124 to 96.225; US$/Yen +.08 to
110.58 (110.68H/110.41L); equities firmer (emini +4.25, 2856.5); gold stronger
(XAU +1.96, 1187.01); West Texas crude (WTI +0.05, 65.96).
- Asia, quiet start, narrow range with Tsys gravitating higher into the London
open, money manager buying noted in short end.
- London, curves continued to flatten amid moderate support in long end, fast$
buyers 5s and 10s, Sep/Dec futures rolling getting underway.
- Tsy cash/ylds: 2Y 100-00.5 (2.612%), 5Y 100-01.5 (2.738%), 10Y 100-05
(2.855%), 30Y 99-24 (3.012%).
