Ramaphosa Says Were Blindsided by State Capture, Promises Never to be Repeated

• Ramaphosa ends two days of testimony at the state capture commission by saying many ANC member were blind-sided by state capture moves under Zuma and not alert enough to the goings on with the Guptas.
  • Zondo said a report would be due and those still in positions of power would be reviewed. Ramaphosa said this report would inform the course of actions to be taken
• Eskom signs coal agreement for Arnot power station – securing high-quality coal at affordable prices for the life of the Arnot power station.
  • If the need arises the coal can also be used at other stations and an exit clause after 6-years has been built into the contract.
  • Longer-term contract serves to boltser supply security and reduce costs of Eskom
