Ramaphosa Summoned by Graft Ombudsman

  • Bloomberg reports that South Africa's graft ombudsman is to probe Ramaphosa on reports of a farm robbery.
  • This marks another development in the controversy surrounding Ramaphosa as he seeks ANC re-election later this year. The supposed farm robbery concerns $4mln of losses that the President is accused of subsequently covering up.
  • Ramaphosa is already due to appear in front of the ANC’s integrity commission - but on a voluntary basis. Looks like Ramaphosa now being summoned by a more central and non-party affiliated official
