DOLLAR-CANADA: Recovery off earlier low of C$1.3203 touched an extended high of
C$1.3286 driven by weak commodities Monday: WTI crude futures now trade lower by
3.71% at $51.73, below last week's lows at $51.79. There's been little news to
drive the move, markets appear to have taken profit after a firm Thursday/Friday
rally last week. USD/CAD may run into resistance on an approach
into the Friday NY high at C$1.3332(area of hourly lows Jan24) ahead of the
Jan24 high of C$1.3375. Rate currently sits back on the 38.2% Fibonacci
retracement level of the day's move up from C$1.3203 to $1.3286 at C$1.3254. A
break to expose hourly support between C$1.3245/35.
