Recreation and comms drive services CPI higher

  • Recreation and culture rose from 4.6%Y/Y in March to 6.4%Y/Y. And communication from 3.6%Y/Y to 7.8%Y/Y - the biggest upward movements for services.
  • On the goods side alcohol and tobacco rose 9.1%Y/Y up from 5.3%Y/Y in March and food prices only slowed a tenth from 19.2%Y/Y to 19.1%Y/Y.
