REFINING: Equipment Malfunction at Delek’s Big Spring Refinery on Oct 4

Delek’s 73,000 bpd Big Spring refinery in Texas had an equipment malfunction at a light distillate hydrotreater on October 4 resulting in sulfur dioxide emissions, according to a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality filing.

  • “Unit operations were adjusted to minimize emissions.”
  • The emissions took place between 8pm on Oct. 4 until 2am on Oct. 5.
