STOCKS: Regional stocks & U.S. equity index futures were clumped lower on the
back of Trump's coronavirus fighting plan, which held no surprises and confirmed
a widely touted European travel ban.
- This added to the negative lead from Wall St., and goings on in the Middle
East, which saw 3 coalition personnel killed in a rocket attack on a base in
Iraq.
- The drop in KOSPI was so pronounced that a sidecar was triggered, the first
such instance since 2011.
- Equities are generally off of lows, but still sharply lower on the day.
- Nikkei 225 -3.9%, Hang Seng -3.3%, CSI 300 -1.7%, ASX 200 -6.2%.
- S&P 500 futures -85, NASDAQ 100 futures -291, DJIA futures -877.
