Fox News reports that Rep Dean Phillips (D-MN) is expected to announce a primary challenge against President Biden on Friday.

• Fox reports: "...the launch of Phillips' Democratic campaign for the White House will come in New Hampshire, on the last day for candidates to file to place their name on the state's famed first-in-the-nation presidential primary."
• Phillip's bid is unlikely to pose a serious threat to Biden's re-nomination but it could divert funds and campaign resources away from the White House's main priority of countering former President Donald Trump.
• Phillips primary bid could also exacerbate concerns about President Biden age and compel the White House to confront more questions over Biden's physical and mental competency - a key concern for voters.
• The Huffington Post reports: "The 54-year-old moderate Democrat, who was elected to Congress in 2018, has been outspoken about the need for younger leadership in the Democratic Party. He has openly stated his belief that the 80-year-old Biden shouldn’t run for reelection and encouraged other potential candidates to run, breaking with the vast majority of his party."
