Ringgit Slips To Weekly Low

Spot USD/MYR has moved to its weekly high and last sits +18 pips at MYR4.2213. Bulls look to a clearance of Mar 29 high of MYR4.2260 before taking aim at Mar 24 high of MYR4.2373. On the flip side, bears look for a fall through Apr 6 low of MYR4.2085 before targeting Mar 30 low of MYR4.2000, which almost coincides with the 100-DMA.

  • The Straits Times ran an opinion piece noting that "there is a growing consensus among the key players in Malaysia's fragmented political landscape that an electoral pact is needed for them to stand a change against Barisan Nasional," which may result in junior coalition partner Bersatu striking some sort of deal with opposition parties ahead of the next general election.
