Russia and Venezuela Officials Meet Monday with Energy on Agenda

Russia and Venezuelan officials are set to meet Monday with energy partnerships on the agenda at a time when the US is looking at further easing oil related sanctions on Maduro’s government.

  • "We will discuss expansion of cooperation on a wide range of bilateral relations, including in the area of technologies, investment, finances and energy," according to Russian foreign minister Alexander Shchetinin.
  • He added that Russia expects much from the meeting.
  • The meeting is cochaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Venezuelan Oil Minister Pedro Tellechea according to Tass reports.
