Russia Likely to Find Arctic 2 LNG Buyers: Flex CEO

Russia will likely find buyers for LNG produced at its sanctioned Arctic 2 LNG plant by using a shadow fleet of tankers according to Flex LNG CEO Oystein Kalleklev.

  • “We do think that the Russians will find willing buyers for these LNG volumes” Kalleklev said.
  • “We are basically following the recipe for the petroleum market, where they have been successful in keeping oil barrels flowing to friendly nations, typically India, China, Brazil” he said.
  • “Older ships are being taken up by affiliates with Russian counterparties,” he added.
