Russia Observing Refinery Operations for Ban Direction

Russia is looking at the operating results of its oil refineries as part of its guidance on future changes to the oil products ban according to Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov.

  • "We're looking, continuing to monitor the situation. Everything depends on whether this ban will cause any changes at oil refineries themselves, then we'll make a decision.” Shulginov said.
  • “We're watching the situation on a daily basis. We're not only monitoring indicators for oil product prices, but also production indicators at oil refineries themselves," Shulginov added.
  • He said Russian refineries were currently targeting increasing winter fuel supplies at present after a recent order by Deputy PM Alexander Novak.
