- Ukraine has faced increased strikes on its gas infrastructure in recent weeks.
- Naftogaz facilities were struck on Tuesday in the Poltava region in the latest strikes.
- Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian gas infrastructure are forcing the country towards costly European gas imports to replace the flows.
- Ukraine’s gas storage has fallen to very low levels and Ukraine will increase gas imports by a third on Wednesday to 22.6 million cubic meters transmission system data shows.
- The gas appears to come from Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland. Slovakia has threatened to cut flows over discontent for the end of Ukraine transit at the end of last year.
- Last week, Bloomberg sources said that Naftogaz production was impaired by around a third from strikes without offering a timeframe.
