Russian Crude Exports Fall 9% in Dec

Russia's seaborne crude exports dropped 9% to their lowest level in 15 months and below 3mbpd in the first month of the EU ban and price cap according to Kpler data.

  • Exports fell 266kbpd from 3.05mbpd in November to 2.79mbpd in December.
  • India and China accounted for 82% of Russian seaborne crude exports last month. India was the top importer with 1.3mbpd and China imports remained steady at 950kbpd.
  • South Korea imports nearly doubled to 44.72kbpd while Japan imported the first crude since Jun 2022 at 22.6kbpd.
  • Italy cut its imports by 71% to 34kbpd and imports to the Netherlands have halted completely.
  • Bulgaria imported 160kbpd and Turkey imports fell 56% to 76.5kbpd.
