Russian Offline Capacity to Fall 38% in June m/m: Reuters

Russian offline primary capacity is expected to fall 38% in June from May to 3.05 million tonnes according to Reuters sources and calculations as seasonal maintenance comes to an end.

  • High Russian refinery maintenance is believed to be a factor pushing higher crude volumes onto the market. The return of refining capacity should help to reduce Russian crude exports.
  • Reuters calculations for idle primary oil refining capacity have been revised higher by 500,000 tonnes to 5.0 million tonnes due to extended maintenance at several refineries.
