Russian Pipeline Gas Flows to Europe Slip in June on Turkstream Maintenance

Pipeline gas supplies from Russia’s Gazprom to Europe jumped 23% in June vs a year prior but fell 8.6% from May according to Reuters calculations.

  • The slip m/m was mainly the result of Turkstream maintenance.
  • Russian gas supplies via the TurkStream pipeline to Southeast Europe fell to an average of 37 mcm/d in June after planned maintenance cut flows to zero for five days, Platts reported.
  • Total gas deliveries to the Strandzha 2 entry point were 1.1 bcm in June, down from a nine-month high of 1.35 bcm in May Platts said.
  • The Reuters calculations showed that average Russian daily pipeline exports to Europe decreased to 81.8 mcm last month from 89.5 mcm in May, but they were up from the 66.8 mcm in June 2023.
  • Gazprom's natural gas exports to Europe this year have totalled about 15.5 bcm so far.
