Russia’s April Crude Oil Output Fell To 9.6mbpd

Russian crude oil production in April stood at 9.6mbpd in April, down by 100kbpd on the month according to OPEC’s Monthly Oil Market Report.

  • This mostly in line with data from Russia’s Energy Ministry that said the country’s crude oil production stood at 9.66mbpd in May.
  • Total liquids production in April fell by 176kbpd on the month to 10.9mbpd, including 1.4mbpd of NGLs and condensate.
  • For 2023, Russian liquids production is forecast to drop by 0.75mbpd on the year to average 10.28mbpd, unchanged from the previous month’s assessment. This includes the country’s pledged voluntary cuts.
  • The Russian government pledged to cut its crude oil production by 500kbpd, compared with the February baseline of 10.08mbpd, starting in March 2023 according to the Russian Energy Ministry.
