Russia’s Feb Seaborne Diesel Exports to Soften

OIL PRODUCTS

Russia is planning to slightly lower diesel exports from three western ports in February amid lower refinery runs, according to Bloomberg.

  • Diesel loadings from Baltic and Black Sea ports are set to fall to 2.93m mt, or around 754k b/d. This is down 0.9% on the month, according to Kpler data.
  • Primorsk will load 2.007m mt, with Vysotsk loading 0.338m mt and Novorossiysk loading 0.587m mt.
  • Russian refineries have marginally reduced their runs so far in 2024 and has retained some export restrictions on winter-grade diesel.
  • The data does not reflect flows to three domestic ports by pipeline, nor does it reflect diesel shipments from Tuapse. The port is linked to a refinery that was halted after a drone attack.
  • Spare capacity at Tuapse after the outage at the linked refinery may be utilised for diesel exports from other facilities, according to Kpler.
