POWER: RWE to build 600MW BESS Project in Germany, Operational by 2028

RWE will build three BESS units – a combined capacity of 600MW – in Germany, with the units to be commissioned between 2026-28, RWE said.

  • The units will be installed at its Westfalen power plant in Hamm and will be able to store 1.2GWh.
  • Once commissioned, the storage capacity at the site will reach a total of 1.35GWh following the recent BESS unit that went into operation in February, RWE said.
