SAGBs Outperform Regional Peers, But Remain Tentative

SOUTH AFRICA
  • Local rates little changed to a fraction higher this morning, having bear flattened in the lead up to yesterday's FOMC minutes yesterday.
  • 2Y yields made a key downside break through 5.30 to test June support at 5.25, while long end yields traded flat to higher to close the session.
  • W/w SAGBs have been the regional outperformer, however, with peers Russia & Turkey going broadly offered across the curve.
  • SAGBs trade lower over all major tenors with a slight bull steepening bias in short-duration (3m-1y tenors -15-23bp).

  • SAGB curve w/w change
