FED: San Francisco President Mary Daly (voter 2021) says on press call Monday
yield curve control is "not in my first-use toolkit."
-Forward guidance and balance sheet expansion "work well" and have a historical
track record. Curve control can be "a little helper" along with guidance.
-The success of Main Street and other Fed market programs depend more on "can
targeted groups get funding" than how much money is drawn from them. Fed
announcements alone have already helped stabilize markets, Daly said.
-The job market can rebound and grow without rapid inflation, even if some
workers are displaced: "I don't see any information or evidence that we're at
risk of having high inflation or that we're at risk of having permanent
dislocations."
-There are positive signs that market pressures have eased.
