Scotland's Finnart Pipeline Repair Faces Delays: Reuters Sources

Repairs to Scotland’s Finnart oil pipeline that supplies Grangemouth will take longer than expected to complete according to Reuters sources.

  • The works could continue into April according to two of the sources, having previously expected a March completion date.
  • Repairs were started after a small leak was discovered in early January.
  • Finnart pipeline repairs knock Grangemouth refinery access to crude imports from international markets. It is currently undergoing maintenance, reducing its need for crude.
  • The Grangemouth refinery took its largest remaining crude distillation unit (CDU) offline on Feb. 16 and in early January a diesel-producing hydrocracker was offline.
