Sempra Signs Another LNG Supply Deal For Port Arthur

Sempra has signed a long-term LNG delivery agreement with PKN Orlen to supply 1mn t of LNG for a period of 20 year, starting from 2027, from its Port Arthur LNG facility, PKN CEO Daniel Obatjek said.

  • Sempra has signed several LNG supply deals in the past year.
  • The most recent deal was signed with RWE to supply 2.25mtpa of LNG for 15 years. Previous agreements last year were signed with Engie and INEOS, also from the Port Arthur facility.
  • Sempra is expected to significantly boost its LNG capacity in the US Gulf Coast region. Port Arthur LNG Phase 1 signed the EPC contract in 4Q22 and Phase 2 is currently under active marketing and development.
  • The firm also continues to advance its Cameron LNG Phase 1 project, which is under development and FDI on Train 4 is anticipated after summer 2023.
