*Euro-dollar dipped from $1.1945 to $1.1921 shortly after the open, traders

attributed the move to comments made over the weekend by ECB's Chief Economist

Praet, who said, It is not yet time for ECB to reduce its accommodating measures

and a decision on next year's policy will be taken this fall.

*The move proved fleeting, the Euro regained a firmer footing to trade to

$1.1950

*Dips were then limited to $1.1934, steady euro-yen demand pushed the pair to

$1.1955 before stalling

*Consolidation then became the theme and heading toward the European open the

pair trades at $1.1945  

*Eurozone CPI for August (0900GMT) provides the initial event risk for the

session ahead.
