Shell Keeps Segment Of Zydeco Oil Pipeline Shut For 1-2 Weeks

Shell expects to keep the 22-inch segment of its Zydeco crude pipeline out of service for 1-2 weeks while it determines the source of a crude leak earlier this week, according to a shipper notice seen by Bloomberg.

  • The Zydeco system is still able to receive from the Department of Energy’s West Hackberry reserve facility and deliver to Lake Charles- Louisiana area refineries on the Lake Charles lateral.
  • The network may also be able to take delivery from the DOE’s West Hackberry site for transport to Houma, St. James and Clovelly in Louisiana.
  • The 375kkbpd pipeline delivers crude from terminals in Houston and Nederland in Texas to St. James and Clovelly in Louisiana.
