Italy’s Snam has started talks with France and Greece to trade CO2 from its Ravenna CCS project, Snam’s CEO Stefano Venier said, cited by Bloomberg. 

  • “Further potential developments are the establishment of a virtual corridor where CO2 could be shipped in liquefied form, expanding the client base to South of Italy and neighbouring countries like France and Greece,” Venier said.
  • In September, Eni and Snam started injecting CO2 in the Ravenna CCS project, with the development able to store as much as 4 mn/t CO2 per year by 2030, the firms said. The project is the first of its kind in Italy.
