South Sudan Crude Exports Not Impacted by Sudan Fighting

South Sudan's crude exports have not been affected by the ongoing fighting in neighbouring Sudan according to a senior oil ministry official.

  • Combined crude exports from Sudan and South Sudan have averaged 83kb/d so far this year according to Vortexa data, down from 116kb/d last year.
  • South Sudan production of around 144kb/d in February is transported via pipeline to Sudan's Red Sea coast for export or to the 100kb/d Khartoum refinery in Sudan.
  • Sudan produced 70kb/d of crude in March according to Argus estimates.
