Sovcomflot Oil Tanker Signaling India

A vessel owned by the sanctioned Sovcomflot, carrying Russian Urals crude, is heading toward India, after the country’s refiners said last month, they halt imports of oil on Sovcomflot tankers, Bloomberg ship tracking showed.
- The Vladimir Tikhonov is headed to Paradip with expected arrival on 29 April, Bloomberg ship tracking showed.
- This would mark the first Sovcomflot vessel arriving in India since early April.
- Indian refiners said last month they would stop receiving Russian oil carried on Sovcomflot tankers due to increased EU sanctions.
- India’s oil imports so far in April are tracking 1.72mbpd, the highest level since July, Bloomberg ship-tracking data showed.
