Spain to France Gas Connection in "8-9 Month's": Spanish Energy Minister

NATURAL GAS

A gas pipeline connecting Spain and France could be operational within eight or nine months according to Spanish Energy Minister Teresa Ribera today.

  • “This new interconnection, this gas pipeline could be operating in about 8 or 9 months on the southern border side, that is, from the Pyrenean to Spain,” she said.
  • This could be critical for Europe because of Spain’s LNG import capacity that has little way of making into the rest of Europe.
