SPD Hits Post-Election Low In Latest Forsa Poll

GERMANY

The centre-left Social Democrats (SPD) has recorded its lowest post-election polling score in the latest Forsa poll. The SPD is on course to lead the next German gov't alongside the environmentalist Greens and pro-business liberal Free Democrats (FDP).

  • Forsa: SPD 24% (-1), CDU/CSU 22% (=), GRÜNE 17% (+1), FDP 12% (-2), AfD 10% (+1), DIE LINKE 5% (=). Fieldwork 9-15 Nov, chgs w/2-8 Nov, 2,510 respondents.
  • Yesterday presumptive next chancellor, Olaf Scholz of the SPD, stated that coalition talks were 'going well', and he hoped for the official formation of a gov't next month.
