St Louis President Bullard (non-2020 voter).....>

FED
FED: St Louis President Bullard (non-2020 voter) interviewed on Bloomberg TV
earlier, continues to note the Yield Curve Control debate (previously he's said
he's open to the idea but saw no urgency):
- On the Fed's toolkit: "other things we can do, have deployed good tools for
the situation". Notes that he believes in nominal GDsP targeting and price level
targeting [he has said this before].
- On yield curve control: Says US had it during World War II, exit was
difficult, "ended in tears". Compares to Japan situation in which BoJ scaled
back QE program size by targeting yields. "Lot more questions than answers"
around YCC, though.
- Thinks Fed giving "great" forward guidance now.
- Any negative consequences to keeping rates at zero? "Always inflation risk
lurking out there", but to the contrary, the problem is it's been on the low
side. Avoiding deflation risk for the time being too, cites breakevens etc.
