Expect Powell to repeat the new phrasing in the Statement, "The Committee is strongly committed to returning inflation to its 2 percent objective." Here are the changes.

  • Also note that they removed the sentence "With appropriate firming in the stance of monetary policy, the Committee expects inflation to return to its 2 percent objectiveand the labor market to remain strong." Potentially suggesting they don't "expect" either? That's what the economic projections seem to be telling us in conjunction with the statement.
