Step-Aside Deadlines Delayed to Next week - Here's the State of Play:

SOUTH AFRICA
  • In terms of Magashule stepping aside - it seems the key deadlines have been shifted to next week.
  • Current schedule of events looks like this, but as always, it is hard to be precise as ever with these things:
  • As it stands, Magashule's deadline has passed – but has been granted an opportunity to appeal the integrity commission's findings.
  • Additionally, no further information has surfaced RE a direct Ramaphosa-Magashule meeting after having been scheduled for this week.

  • Friday: Meeting with Mbeki & various weekend consultations with other officials
  • weekend or early next week: NWC receives list of officials called on to step aside and must ratify then pass to the NEC
  • During the week: Magashule to speak with Former Treasurer General Phosa
  • Late next week/weekend: NEC meeting set to discuss the issue so long as the NWC has completed its work.
