US TSYS: /STOCKS/ASIA: Cash Treasuries appear to stabilize and drew dip buying
in late UK action, after recent selling tied to Axios report that White House
deciding on Bannon future. Traders said thinking was that should Bannon leave,
that would reduce White House unpredictability factor and potential US/China
trade war factor, so would be stocks-positive and bond negative as less
uncertainty. But the White House's Cohn situation is very different: his
departure would be very bad for White House and also US stocks as he's a key
person on selling tax plan etc. & other programs, so to speak, so that would
spur Tsys buying.
- Meanwhile European accounts do some late dip buying before heading out for the
weekend. N.Korea has been pretty quiet lately, but S.Korea and US were scheduled
to do large military drills next week; but traders believe that China
interaction will keep N.Korea relatively quiet near-term.
