Switzerland Tapping Oil Product Reserves

OIL PRODUCTS

Switzerland announced it will release oil products from the strategic reserves, as the low water level of the Rhine limits the amount of refined products reaching the country.

  • Switzerland, the FONES has decided to temporarily fall short of the mandatory mineral oil stocks by the beginning of September 2022 by 245,000 m3.
  • This amount corresponds to around 6.5 percent of the total mineral oil compulsory stocks prescribed by the federal government, or around 25 percent of monthly sales.
  • This measure applies to the period between July 25 and the beginning of September 2022.
