T-Notes Edge Higher In Asia

BOND SUMMARY

T-Notes have picked up a light bid and last trade +0-03+ at 138-16+, with e-minis operating shy of neutral levels. The latest uptick looks linked to screen flows. Cash Tsy yields sit marginally lower across the curve. Eurodollar futures run -0.5 to +0.5 tick through the reds. Little to write home re: broader news flow, which has been very subdued thus far.

  • JGB futures re-opened on a softer footing and have gyrated within a tight range since then; the contract trades at 151.96, 6 ticks below last settlement. Cash JGB yields are marginally mixed. Little to no follow-through from a slight miss in headline Tokyo CPi combined with lower than exp. unemployment & above-forecast flash industrial output released out of Japan. The BoJ left the sizes of its 1-10 Year JGB purchases unch. & focus moves to Japan's housing starts, due later today.
  • In Australia, YM trades unch. with XM -1.5. Modest twist steepening evident in cash trade, with ACGB yields sitting -0.5bp to +1.4bp across the curve. Bills last seen unch. to -1 tick through the reds. Little to shock in the latest AOFM issuance schedule & local data releases. The supply of ACGB Jun '31 was easily digested, with cover ratio comfortably topping 4.5x.
