US TSYS
US TSYS: T-Notes hold a tight range in early Asia-Pac trade, last -0-04 at
138-22+.
- The contract stuck to a fairly tight range on Thursday, with U.S. COVID-19
worry, Korean peninsula tensions and signs of unrest between the U.S. and China
cited as supporting factors through most of the day, before the familiar late
uptick in U.S. equity markets (albeit only back to neutral levels for the major
indices) applied some pressure into the close. Volumes were light overall.
- Still, cash yields went out little changed to lower on the day, with the curve
bull flattening.
- Slightly gloomier than expected weekly jobless claims data was also cited as a
supportive factor in early NY trade, although the recent trend observed in the
data hasn't changed.
- Eurodollar futures sit unchanged to -0.5 through the reds.
- A quick look to the docket reveals no major macro movers in Asia, so focus
will fall on headline watching, broader market flows and the COVID-19 situation
in China (which authorities suggested was under control on Thursday).
