US TSYS
US TSYS: T-Notes moved to fresh session highs on the back of a Globe & Mail
report that suggested that the U.S. is set to proceed in seeking the extradition
of the Huawei CFO from Canada, triggering some modest risk-off flows in broader
asset classes, which set the tone for the latter part of the Asia-Pacific
session.
- A 3.0K buy order then pushed T-Notes to fresh highs later in the day, where we
trade last.
- The belly has outperformed in cash trade, with 30-Year paper lagging after the
elongated holiday weekend.
- Sino-U.S. trade relations and the U.S. gov't shutdown continue to provide the
pre-eminent issues, with the Fed in blackout ahead of next week's MonPol
decision.
- Eurodollar trade picked up in the second half of the session, with the whites
and reds trading unchanged to 3.5 ticks higher at writing, as the strip
flattens.
- T-Notes last 121.12+, U.S. 10-Year cash Tsy yields last 2.754%.
