Taiwan Health Minister Says Covid Vaccination Schedule Accelerated

There are reports in the Taiwan News that Taiwan has accelerated the Covid-19 vaccine schedule to the end of Q2 2021. Health and Welfare Minister Chen Shih-chung has said the first doses of the vaccine could be available between March and June, while second doses would not be completed until after June.

  • Taiwan has thus far secured access to around 15m vaccine doses (10m purchased and 5m through the COVAX allocation scheme), and is in talks for further purchases.
