POWER: Terna Taskes to Draft New Electricity Storage Capacity Regulation

Italian Terna has been tasked to publish a draft proposal for regulating the electricity storage capacity procurement mechanism, aimed at auctions with delivery periods after 2028, it said.

  • The main changes include the construction of new pumping plants, the conversion of existing plants into pumping plants, and the strengthening of current pumping systems through increased power.
  • Additionally, the proposal suggests adopting the equivalent MWh method to value capacity in auctions.
