The Caixin China manufacturing...........>

CHINA DATA
CHINA DATA: The Caixin China manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) edged
down for the first time in six months to 51.5 in December from November's 51.8.
The index stayed in the expansionary zone above the breakeven 50 and was
significantly higher than for the first three quarters of 2019, said Caixin.
- Although the new orders sub-index fell to a three-month low and new export
orders declined slightly, both sub-indices remained above 50. Domestic and
overseas demand has improved, manufacturers surveyed by Caixin said, driving
them to expand production and increased output.
- The Caixin figure was not in line with the trend of the official PMI, reported
by the National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday, which remained flat at 50.2 in
December from the previous month.
- The Caixin PMI tracks small and medium sized manufacturers which are not
surveyed by the NBS.
