The early bid in regional equity markets.....>

STOCKS
STOCKS: The early bid in regional equity markets faded a touch, with U.S.
President Trump noting that "if we can't make a deal with Congress (re: the
border wall), we'll probably declare a national emergency."
- Dovish remarks from Fed Vice-Chair Clarida & U.S. Tsy Sec Mnuchin pointing to
a likely visit from the top U.S, trade envoy at some point this month had
supported the space in early trade. - Chinese stock metrics also drew support
from statements pointing to the potential for further supportive fiscal
measures.
- Weakness in the financial, industrial and materials sectors pushed the ASX 200
into negative territory.
- Nikkei 225 +0.8%, Hang Seng +0.2%, CSI 300 +0.1%, ASX 200 -0.2%.
- U.S. equity index futures trade marginally lower.
- S&P 500 -4, DJIA -18, NASDAQ 100 -12.
