JAPAN: The latest round of weekly international security flow data revealed
another hefty round of net foreign bond purchases for Japanese investors, in
what was the third consecutive week of net buying, with all 3 weeks seeing net
purchases of over Y1.0tn (latest week saw a marginal pullback to a still very
healthy Y1.542tn).
- Elsewhere, Japanese investors reverted to net buying of foreign equities
(Y135.1bn) after the previous week saw the first round of net selling since
February.
- Foreigners flipped to net buying of Japanese bonds, scooping up a net Y261.4bn
after 2 consecutive weeks of net selling.
- Elsewhere, foreigners upped their net selling of Japanese equities to Y421.9bn
in the most recent week, as they recorded a second consecutive week of net
sales.
