STOCKS: The major Asia-Pacific equity indices were flat to higher, with the
Nikkei 225 providing the standout performance adding over 1.0%, benefitting from
the latest downtick in the JPY, while the broader equity space drew support from
Wall St.'s performance. The Hang Seng added around 0.5%, with the CSI 300
operating around unchanged levels.
- Australia's ASX 200 is also trading just shy of flat on the session as
consumer staples, financials and utilities negated the gains made elsewhere.
- U.S. index futures managed to post modest gains, extending on Thursday's run
higher, with a lack of combative rhetoric surrounding China's trade balance
release noted.
